Adjustable Wacom Cintiq Monitor Arm

I love my Wacom Cintiq LCD drawing tablet, the only issue with the thing is its weight of 35lbs. The standard Cintiq stand is very nice but still I figured I could make something better.

What I wanted is some way I could push the monitor back for times when I am using it as a monitor only with easy access to the keyboard and mouse, you know for more mundane task like moving files and reading emails. When need for drawing I could pull the Cintiq out and use it that way. An adjustable CRT monitor arm was just the trick.

In normal use with full access to the keyboard and mouse, there is even room underneath for my standard Wacom Intuos 12x9.

Pulled forward for drawing, but with still enough room to
reach the keyboard for the use of shortcut keys.
I had to attach a piece of 2x4 to extend the back of the desk so the
monitor could be pushed back where I wanted.

Full rotation is still retained which is one of the Cintiqs best features

The heavy duty monitor arm designed for CRT monitors,
rated to hold 65lbs so the 35lb Cintiq was no problem.
I found many standard LCD monitor arms were not strong enough.

The arms mounting plate had to be cut and notched to accept
mounting of the standard Wacom Cintiq stand.
