The Ferrari 312PB was raced by such greats as Mario Andretti and Jacky Ickx as a Group 6 Prototype-Sports Car in 1971,  but was redesignated as a Group 5 Sports Car for 1972/73. Powered by a Ferrari 2991 cc Double Overhead Cam Flat 12 Cylinder engine.

Jaguar D-Type

The Jaguar D-Type was a factory-built race car made to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s most notable feature was a tail fin behind the drives head used to increase stability on the long fast Mulsanne Straight at the Le Mans track. Its most ground-breaking innovation was the introduction of a monocoque chassis.

Parnelli Jones 1970 Trans Am Mustang

Companion piece to my painting of the new model Saleen Mustang. This is the Mustang of Parnelli Jones that competed in the 1970 Tans Am racing series.  In 1970, spectators watched Parnelli in his black striped Grabber Orange Boss 302 Mustang take numerous checkered flags to win the overall championship. This painting shows that car long with the newer 2010 Saleen Mustang reflected in the water below. A version with the new Mustang on top is in the works.

George Follmer 1969 Trans Am Mustang

Alfa Romeo Spider after a hard day of road racing.
Inspired by a quick snapshot I took at the Waterford Hills Road Racing Track in Michigan.
I think it captured the true spirit of amateur motorsports.
