In his first Grand Prix start of the 1971 season Mario Andretti driving for the Ferrari team qualified fourth on the grid for the South African Grand Prix. Run on the Kyalami circuit Andretti ran in the top six for the first half of the race. As the race was winding down, Andretti began to make his move on the leading McLaren of Denny Hulme. With four laps to go, Andretti had closed to one second behind Hulme. It was during these last four laps that suspension problems hit the McLaren car and Andretti grabbed the lead. This community art and peace park is open to all, shaped by all, and the hub of many of our dreams for what Detroit can be and what Detroit will be as we create together.

HDR, High Dynamic Range is the process of taking a series photos with a digital camera of the same subject and adjusting exposure to get good detail in the shadows without blowing out the highlites.  These overexposed and under exposed images are composited into one image with color, detail and optimum exposure.

These photos were taken in the Old Redford section of Detroit where someone has been decorating the buildings with lots of colorful paintings.
